Data Processing Agreement

The short version: you’re the controller, we’re the processor, subprocessors are listed publicly, and deletion is self-serve — this page summarizes the signable DPA available on request.
Roles
For personal data inside your workspace (teammate emails, analytics you connect), the customer is the data controller and Kognics, Inc. is the processor, acting only on documented instructions — in practice, your configuration of the product.
Scope of processing
Running scans you configure, storing results and analysis, syncing the integrations you authorize, and delivering the emails and alerts you enable. Nothing else, and no processing for our own advertising.
Subprocessors
Listed at viali.ai/subprocessors with their functions and regions. We give advance notice of additions and a right to object.
Security measures
Encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access with logging, environment separation, tested backups and disaster recovery, and a documented incident-response plan. A SOC 2 readiness control matrix is available under NDA.
International transfers
Where personal data leaves the EU/UK, transfers rest on Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into the signable DPA.
Data subject requests
Because export and deletion are self-serve, most requests can be honored directly in-app. Where a data subject contacts us instead, we forward the request to you within 72 hours.
Breach notification
We notify affected customers without undue delay and no later than 72 hours after confirming a personal-data breach, with what we know and what we’re doing.
Deletion and return
On termination, export everything as JSON, then delete your account; backups age out on a fixed schedule documented in the DPA.
